Tape Tum are Lieven Dousselaere (guitar, voice, electronics) and Benjamin Dousselaere (bass, voice and electronics), two Belgian brothers that work together in this band. During their short existence they have already been invited to participate in the Domino Festival, and featured in the compilation that marks the happening distributed through Wire. They were also the opening act to Tortoise during their visit to Brussels.
In this record, initially distributed by the band in CD-R and now through the Merzbau Netlabel, Tape Tum show us a set of songs where predominates an audacious production sweeten with electronic elements that construct experimental soundscapes culminating in two key moments. Sea Scent and Heart of Gold (theme that first appeared in the Domino compilation) are two moments of rare beauty and creativity with an accurate pop sense. This record is given to know to more people at the same time the band prepare their first full album.
